March 2019 — VOC Capital Partners Secures €2 Million to Target Dutch Start Up Companies
VOC Capital Partners (VOC) recently announced a €2 Million partnership with the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs to invest in Dutch Start Up companies. VOC Capital Partners, which was formed by entrepreneurs Han de Groot, Jan Willem Gerritsen, Pieter Schoen, Jan-Niek de Groot, Bas Witvoet and Nico Schuurbiers, plans to make ten investments in early stage companies in the major new media, software, financial services, health care and green technology sectors over the next three to five years and invest between €250.000 and €350.000 in each transaction.
"Over the next 36 to ultimately 60 months we will invest in ten emerging companies that we think we can help to grow sales by at least 1,000% in a few years," says VOC partner Han de Groot. "Target start-ups must have meaningful differentiation, strong customer appeal, clear economics and management that wants to grow to the next level."
VOC's affinity for start-ups stems from the professional background of its founders. Mr. Han de Groot, Bas Witvoet and Pieter Schoen are all founders and CEO's of Dutch companies with market caps ranging from 10M to 100M, all built within 10 years.
"Somewhere between friends and family and real private equity is a huge gap where lots of great concepts with great fundamentals cannot grow because they don't have the right resources, "continues Han de Groot. "We are targeting these concepts at the very important "hockey stick" inflection point and expect huge leverage not only because we are providing the capital but also because we are providing the top notch expertise they need to grow."
