The core team of general partners have substantial venture, financial & operating experience.
VOC Capital’s general partners are the single largest investors in our fund – we put our own money at risk in contrast to typical venture capital firms that have low General Partner contribution.

Coen Frank is VOC Capital Partner’s Fund Manager. He is involved in all stages of the investment process as well as looking after the fund’s portfolio companies. Prior to VOC Coen was employed as Investment Manager by OTM Investment, a Dutch Private Equity fund focused on Technology. Previously he worked as Equity Sales at CA Cheuvreux and SNS Securities. J.N. (Jan-Niek) de Groot

Jan-Niek de Groot is VOC Capital Partner’s founding partner and operational fund manager focused on the acquisition of participations and managing the investment portfolio. After starting his career within leading IT consulting firms Jan-Niek was co-founder and managing director of Infopulse Electronic Commerce and was one of the pioneers implementing a near-shore outsourcing model with branches in Eastern Europe for customers in the financial industry. After finalising the integration process Jan-Niek worked as a program manager for ING Group managing a portfolio of international projects. In the last few years Jan-Niek acted as informal investor helping and coaching start-up companies. Jan-Niek received a degree in Business Informatics from Fontys Hogeschool Eindhoven. |
J.W. (Jan Willem) Gerritsen

Jan Willem Gerritsen (1973) is co-founding partner of VOC Capital Partners. His field of expertise is business model potential: he consults on the adjustment of business models to exploit new market opportunities or adapt to new competitors. His interest in business development, especially the application of Internet related technologies on existing business models, was sparked during a half year stay in the United States (1997). At the time, he studied Economics at Erasmus University in Rotterdam. It wasn’t long after receiving his degree that Jan Willem co-founded MetrixLab, now Europe’s largest online market research company. Drs. J.A.G. (Han) de Groot

Han de Groot is VOC Capital Partner’s founding partner, focused on helping entrepreneurs with technological and market insight, organizational development, team building, selling and managing growth. Han is Founder and CEO of MetrixLab, Europe’s largest Online Market Research company. During his first ten-year tenure, MetrixLab’s market cap grew to more than €50M. MetrixLab was one of the first internet based marketing research companies in Europe, leveraging internet technology to build global consumer panels, design predictive consumer behaviour tests and deliver insights to the world’s largest brands such as Microsoft, Philips, PepsiCo and Google. Han led MetrixLab’s business expansion into the UK, Germany, Spain and France. These companies include QFLY.nl, the meta search engine for cheap flight tickets and PetPlan.nl, a leading provider of pet insurance, majority owned by AUV. Han received a Bachelors’s degree in Business Economics from the Solvay Business School, University of Brussels (VUB/ULB), and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam (EUR). |

Pieter Schoen (1975) is within the VOC Capital Partner team focused on helping new venture entrepreneurs with their financials, acquisition and managing growth. Pieter is Founder and Director of “de Nederlandse Energie Maatschappij”, the fourth biggest energy supplier in the Netherlands with over 500.000 customers. Nico Schuurbiers (1975) is within the VOC Capital Partner team focused on helping new venture entrepreneurs with their financial planning and budgeting process in order to maximise growth potential. Nico is Founder and Director of Petplan, a leading provider of pet health insurances (partly funded with private equity capital). E-mail: n.schuurbiers@voccp.com After his graduation Nico worked for KPN Mobile as marketing manager. He also set up a sales office in London for a new media company. Before starting up Petplan Nico conducted research and made analysis of the debt collecting business and valuation of outstanding debt portfolios. He did this both for Hal Investments and as an entrepreneur. Nico graduated in 1999 with a Master’s degree from Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) and has got the obligatory qualifications for the insurance business. He is an active golf and tennis player. |
B. (Bas) Witvoet

Bas Witvoet (1970) is founding partner of VOC Capital Partners. His main focus within VOC Capital Partners is Human Resource Management. Bas Witvoet also is founder and CEO of the Oranjegroep (1999), one of the largest contractors of blue-collar personnel in the Netherlands and Belgium. Email: b.witvoet@voccp.com, On average, Oranjegroep employs 500 people and has delivered a diversity of workers on prestigious projects such as the Betuweroute, Hogesnelheidslijn and other major infrastructural projects, both in the Netherlands and in Belgium. Oranjegroep has branch offices in the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland and Portugal. Besides his daily activities within Oranjegroep, Bas is in the Board of Directors of ABC Group , Starplanet bvba and ARTRA Galleries, all located in Belgium. |
